Our feature workshop for
Thursday 1st december at the
Pop-Up Shop (at The Parlour opposite College Green, scroll down to previous posts for info)..will be
Fuxico Brooches with
Sarah Jessie Peyton. Come down between 12 and 2pm to make one or more for yourself or as a gift.
They are rooted in
Brazilian folklore, with the name deriving from the Spanish verb for gossiping! Historically women sit to make them together, and I guess the gossip follows naturally.
Sarah knows more about the fascinating threads of their Australian and Suffolk histories too.
They will be
£10 each to make (what a snip for a lifetime skill!), with all materials and friendly tuition provided. Sarah will be available between
12 and 2pm, and of course the
tea will be flowing.
